Accelerated Biological Organics Processing (ABOP) takes a wide range of quantities of organic material and controls its biological activity. This superior control is based on the real-world application of science and engineering. Physics, chemistry, biology, and Earth science are used to control and optimize the microbiology. The microbiology does the work that other systems use unsustainable fossil fuels and capital equipment for.
The control of the biological environment results in optimal biological populations that are isolated from the rest of the environment. In their optimal private environment, microbes break down the available organic material and do it many times more effectively than windrow or aerated static pile (ASP) composting. ASP and windrow composting are old, expensive, and inefficient technology.
No methane is produced and the normal volatile organic compounds and odors produced by ASP and windrow composting are avoided.
The More Material you Have the More Profit you Make
Materials are placed in the isolated processing area. The massive biological population of ABOP processes all the energy in the feedstock. When organic material has been processed into stable humus, it is removed from the system. The product, humus, is screened to remove any inert materials. At that point the humus can be mixed with other soils to improve them or be distributed as it comes out of the screen.
What We Don’t Have
We don’t have big Capital costs and we don’t have long lead times. We really don’t have any size constraint, but bigger will reduce cost even more.
Accelerated Biological Organics Processing (ABOP) has no tubgrinders, windrow turners, curing pads, or inefficient blowers that are required by conventional composting operations. The massive capital expenditures and fuel/energy use associated with this equipment is not necessary. The smallest towns or the largest cities can process their organics, for less than landfilling, ASP composting , or windrow composting with ABOP.
